THE HARBOUR RACES.
The M class was the first of the harbour races, starting at 3 p.m. Maratea was first away, followed by Maroro, Maia, Mawhiti, and Matarere. All set spinnakers, but Mala got into trouble with her running sail and capsized. Maratea took the lead after passing the Sandspit and was never- headed again. The finishing times were: Maratea 4h 19m 15s, Maroro 4h 20m 20s, Mawhiti 4h 22m 475, Matarere 4h 24m 465. V Class. —Drone, Leveret, Surprise, Bita and Magic started at 3.8 p.m. Drone led all the way and the finish was: Drone 4h 30m 17s, Surprise 4h 31m 6s, Leveret 4h 36m 275, Bita 4h 48m 18s. Magic capsised on the second rouud.
S Class.—The starters were: Atangatai, Sea Sleigh, Waitui, Almira, Rival and Spindrift in this order. The finishing times were: Sea Sleigh 4h 48m 255, Atangatai 4h 52m 375, Waitul 4h 56m 445, Almira 4h 56m 478, Spindrift 5h lm Bs. Star Class.—The only star' era in this race were Ola and Moa. The finishing times were: Ola IV. 4h 32m 565, Moa 4h 36m 42l '
T, X and Y Class.—Alerte, Marie, Sea Da wo, Joan, Kismet, Ngaio, Eleanor and Bex were the only starters. Marie led on the first round by lm 20s from Alerte. The finish was: Alerte 4b 56m 10s, Marie 4h 56m 345, Kismet ah 3m 435. Ngaio 5b 5m 20s. Joan 5h 5m 565, Sea Dawn 5h 11m 21s.
Z Class.—The starters were : Delphine, Kitty, Comet and Lai Lai in this order. Delphine led all the way and the finish was: Delphine 4h 26m 15s, Kitty 4h 37m 46*; Comet 4h 38m 51a, Lai Lai, lb 46m &t*t
