MR. HUBERT AKERS.
Mr. T. Morney, of the Waihi Gold Mining Co., has received advice of the sudden death of Mr. Hubert Akers, who was for many years secretary of the Waihi Gold Mining Co. in London, where his conspicuous ability had been a valuable asset to the company. During the past few years Mr. Akers had been living in Oxfordshire, in the old manor house of his family, and he devoted some of his attention to the control of his adjacent farm, on which stud sheep were a specialty. His loss will be severely felt in his district and in the London office, over which he presided so ably. He leaves a widow and three daughters.
