PURE MERINO SHEEP.
IMPORTED FROM AUSTRALIA. A VALUABLE CONSIGNMENT. <By Telegraph—Special to "Star.") DUNEDIN, Saturday. A consignment of stud and flock merino sheep, purchased at the dispersal sale of the Belle Vue stud farm, near Launceston, Tasmania, was landed from the Manuka to-day. The ewes are the first of the Belle Vue breed to be imported into New Zealand. Murray, Roberts and Co. handled a shipment of thirty-eight rams and thirty ewes, their total value being £1537. Two fine rams, Premier and Leader, said to be the pick of the Belle Vue flock, have been purchased by Mr. R. Jopp, of Moutere, and Mrs. Watson Shennan, of Puketoi Station, respectively. Mr. James Begg, of Bendigo Station, has secured ten flock rams; and another client has purchased twelve and five selected flock rams; Mr. J. A.
