ELECTRIC LIGHT FAILS*
CAUSED BY WATER SHORTAGE.

TAIHAPE, this day.
Business men were inconvenienced <* Saturday evening when at snort nrtwvals the electric light failed and Tafluf • was plunged into darkness. Owing to the recent dry spell the Hautapu Ri*«» from which electricity is generated, h* become very low. The borough council® dam is at present below normal, and not sufficient water is available for toe electricity supply, necessitating the n® of the gas engine. Rain is, howew*> again very probable, and Taihape soon again be enjoying an efficient etec* trie supply.
