TOUCHED A "LIVE" PIPE.
FARMER BADLY SHOCKED.
APPEARANCE OF DEATH.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
WAIHI, this dav.
A young Katikati farmer named Jeffrey Sharp had a narrow escape from death yesterday afternoon. He was assisting his uncle in borinjj operations for water near a milking shed, and he placed his hands on a galvanised pipe which had come into contact with the transmission wires from the electric plant. The shock rendered him unconscious for a considerable time, and it was thought he was dead. Medical aid arrived later, and subsequently he recovered sufficiently to be pronounced out of danger. His hands were badly burnt.
