RUGBY FOOTBALL.
MANIAPOTO UNION. ARRANGING A DIFFERENCE. _ The annual meeting of tiie Manlapoto Rugby Union was held on Saturday evening. The report and balance-sheet "showed a credit balance of £70 1/7. The report showed thatelast leamn'i income had been seriously affected by the unfortunate dispute between M»i>iapoto and the Kins Country Union over the creation of a fresh ■ sub-union at Otorohanga. This had led to the subsequent disqualification *of the Hangatiki team, together with the Individual players who participated in a match at Otorohanga. A conference is to be held at Te KuKl on April 12 to consider the whole position. A letter was read from the North Taranaki Rugby Union In reply to Manlapoto's resolution to 1 secede from, the King Country parent body and Join Taranaki. The writer stated the whole of-, the correspondence covering the dispute had been carefully considered by the N.T.R.U., and 11 was resolved to Send a representative to act as chairman at the proposed conference to be held at Te Kuitl on April 12, to go into the whole question of the dispute. In the meantime the N.T.R.U. refused to sanction Maniapoto's affiliation with Taranaki. The following delegates were thereupon elected to represent Manlapoto at the proposed conference: Messrs. H. Rothery, R. Body, G. Elliott, W. Copeey, T. Hetet. The following officers were elected for the season : Patron, Mr. J. C. Rolleston, M.P.; president, Mr. W. Tapp; vice-presi-dent, Mr. R. Body; secretary, Mr. F. Laddie; treasurer, Mr. T. M. Hetet; Management Committee, Messrs. Condon, Joseph. Larcombe, Neal,, Copsey; selectors, Messrs. H. Rothery, R. Body, A. Joseph; Junior selecItors, Messrs. Nealy, Larcombe, and Warren; selectors third grade, Messrs. Webster ana Larcombe.
The election of delegates to the parent body was held over pending the result ot the conference.
