JANIE SEDDON'S MASTER.
CAPTAIN INKSTER TO RETIRE. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Monday. Captain L. Inkstcr, master of the Government steamer Janie Seddon, who will retire 011 superannuation shortly, was the recipient of a presentation on Saturday from a number of officials who habitually use the vessel in the pursuit of their duties.
Dr. McLean, port health officer, in making the presentation, made reference to Captain Inkster's service, which had extended over many years.
Others who spoke were Mr. H. D. Thomson (Under-Secretary of the Immigration Department), Mr. D. Butler (boarding inspector, Customs Department), Mr. McConnell (Tourist Department), and Detective Baylis (Police Department).
Messrs. Bradney and Binns announce their Easter excursions to Ostend. A special time-table will operate from Wednesday, with cheap excursion rates on Sunday and Monday.
