THE HOME BEAUTIFUL.
NEW FIRM'S ENTERPRISE. "Castles in the air" are built by most people with normal home-making instincts. No one really wants a castle nowadays, of course. Day dreams generally conjure up a home, not too large and not too small, restful, casement windowed, under wide eaves and red-tiled roof, set in a garden. How often does reality fall short of ideals!
A real service to home-makers is performed by the Garden Homes Construction Company, Limited, who have recently started business in Auckland. The object of the firm is to provide better homes, finished in every detail, built to suit their clients' individual tastes. Their service includes the provision, free of cost, of architects' plans embodying Buch requirements and ensuring that the house is built on the s'oundest lines.
Aiming to give more than is provided for in the usual contract, the firm literally completes the home, providing fences, or rock borders, and laying out the paths and garden; inside, a higher standard of interior decoration is the aim, including the provision of built-in wardrobes, china cupboards, leaded lights, buffet, tip-bins, electric hot water service, art papers and papelling to choice, and all modern bathroom and laundry accessories. In effect practically everything is included in the first cost. In that connection the company has ample facilities for enabling the question of finance to be arranged on easy terms nccording to requirements. An irtterview with the principals at their office, 709, Dilworth Building, will prove enlightening as to the ease with which matters can be arranged .and building operations put in hand so that the home inay be ready for occupation within a | few weeks.
The well-known building contractors, Messrs. Oag and Stafford, are two of the directors and their reputation for efficient workmanship is an assurance of satisfaction.
