PIGEON FLYING.

AVALON CLUB. The above club flew their third race of the second series from Taumarunui, an airline distance of 144 miles. The birds were liberated by the stationmaster at 10 a.m., the winning bird, the- property -of Messrs. bcott Bros., doing the journey in 3 hours 48 minutes, recording a velocity of 1139 yards per minute.
