She is Miss Karen Johnson. Miss J. R. Johnson and Miss Barton who have been touring the Dominion by motor car, returned to Auckland on Friday last. They are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Boyd, Takapuna. • • • • Frauleln Kuea is the first woman to act as a criminal judge in Berlin. In civil courts they have acted for some time. Municipal statistics show that nearly three-quarters of the married women in Berlin do professional work. • • • • Mr, and Mrs. Middlemass, visitors from Scotland to New Zealand, are leaving Auckland on Wednesday night by the Main Trunk to Wellington, where they will Stay for a week, eventually jolnlnjr the Corinthic. Miss Jean Garroway will accompany them to Wellington. • • • • Miss Sleigh, of Dunedin, has passed the examination which qualifies for associateship of the Institute of British Architects. Miss Sleigh is the first woman architect from New Zealand to achieve this distinction.
