CIVIL ESTIMATES.
DOMINION ITEMS, .yftj, —- - : (Received 9.50 a.m.) t ~i r LONDON, March 30. The Civil estimates explain thai the sum of £500,000 voted to the Empire Marketing Board is merely on account and is the balance to make up £1,000,000, which will be advanced at needed. The amount of £1,330,000 to tlie ■" 4 Oversea Settlement Department represents a decrease of £210,000, including*" " £100,000 for assisted passages to Aus- v tralia and £88,000 to New Zealand. The vote towards special medififl, examination for Australian assisted passengers has virtually disappeared, - but on the contrary there is an increase of £16,500 for training migrants .in Britai- . It is understood that the fact that Britain's contribution to League of Nations expenses has increased by £12,000 does not imply a proportionate increase for New Zealand and Australia, —(A. and N.Z. and Sydney "Sun.")
