TROTTING.

ADDINGTON BUDGET. PAN YAN FLIES OVER MILE. WESTERN VOYAGE GOES TO ITECES MARLINDO LOOKING TOORLY. (By Tclogrnpli. — Ppprini t0 "Star.") CHRLSTCHI'RCH, this day. The race track at Addington is fast getting into first-class order, and it •should be ut its best for the meeting which commences next week.

J liorpiu and Golden Devon were al«o dated yesterday in a useful workout over a little further than a mile, and both the West Coast-owned pacers went well.

The trotter El/eal, Young Blake and Our Lady went nearly two miles. Young Blake, who was on the outside, showed line form, while Our Lady, who had the inside going, also trotted in fine style. Elzear moved along in her usual faultless manner, but it looked as though "Young Blake was master of the situation.

St. Maura, driven by her trainer, nnd Queen's Own. with a very light boy in the sulkv, did a mile and si-half, but neither parcr was asked to go at top speed. St. Maura was the pacemaker. Peter Bingcn (who looks like coming to his best form early), Writer, Jackie Audubon and a maiden pacer in E. C. McT)ermott's stable, worked a useful mile and a-half, in which they were not sent to do their best.

Dalmenv, who has not raced well of late, although looking at his best, paecd a little further than a mile and a-quar-ter. He was well out in the middle of the track, but the time was not fast for his workout.

Reverie and Western Voyage did nearly two miles. The speed was not fast, but Western Voyage did not trot at all well. He seems to have gone all to pieces since he raced at New Brighton, judged by his training work.

Author Franz and two maiden pacers indulged in a work-out over about a mile and n-quarter, nnd later did a fast sprint up the straight. The trio all showed good form.

Routine, accompanied by the trotter, Proud Ata, went about a mile and ahalf. Routine was on the rails, but had none the better of the trotter, who, however, was pulling hard all the journey. Pan Yan, who has built up considerably of late, was ridden a fast mile. His pilot was quite a light lad, who rode the pacer in excellent style, and in fast time.

Marlindo, who does not look any too sound, was accompanied by a Logan Pointer maiden pacer for about a mile and a-half, but the speed was not fast.

Rose Marie did nearlv a mile and ahalf well out in the middle of the track. The three-year-old filly paced along in pleasincr style, well within herself.

Sarella, who looks very well, was given about a mile and a-quarter, with her owner in the sulky. This improved pacer did her work very satisfactorilv.

Harold Burwood was not asked to do his best over about a mile and a-quarter. The pacer seems very well, and he may race prominently over a short course.

W. J. Moreland's pacer, by Rey De Oror from Belittle, is not being hurried in his work. He has a good action and looks like making a really hisrh-grade pacer. He will probably not be raced this season.
