WAIPOUA STREAM.
STOCKING WITH TROUT PROPOSED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DARGAVILLE, this day. The Acclimatisation Society is seeking the permission of the Minister for authority to stock the Waipoua Stream, which runs through the Waipoua Forest to the coast. When permission is granted a hatchery will be established there. Rainbow and brown trout are reported to be plentiful in the Kaihu Stream. Fishing above Kaihu, a local angling enthusiast caught four trout. The heaviest weighed 81b, and the others ranged from 3Jlb td 41b.
