THAMES HIGH SCHOOL.

OLD BOYS PRESENT TROPHY. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) ® THAMES, this day. The Thames Old Boys' Association yesterday presented a shield to the High School, in commemoration of the diamond jubilee. The shield will be a trophy for the annual steeplechase, and the winner will receive a gold medal also. In making the presentation, Mr. Ed. Watson, president, said the association felt that it should do something for the school to commemorate last year's important event. He hoped the school would compete for the shield with the healthy rivalry that had always existed.

The headmaster, Mr. Hoult, in thanking the president, said the shield was the most valuable trophy the school held, and every boy would compete for the honour of winning it. Conditions would be drawn up governing the competition.

Mr. Watson stated that a framed photographic enlargement of the first boy to win the shield would be presented to the school.
