RICCARTON TRACK WORK. FOOTFALL FINISHES WELL. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Conditions were again favourable for training operations at Riccarton to-day, but there was a limited amount of fast work, mostly confined to the outside of the course proper. Footfall, assisted by Lovedart over the concluding four furlongs, galloped a mile and a-half on the grass in 2.39 3-5, finishing strongly. Starflight and Chide covered six furlongs in 1.20 1-5, but neither was extended. Honeycomb and Luminant ran six furlongs, five taking 1.3. Tarleton and The Harp did a useful six furlong task, both pulling up well. Battle Colours was seen to advantage in a mile gallop, occupying 1.43. The last seven furlongs were covered in 1.30. Golden Armour, Eulalie and Philippic were restricted to strong work on the plough. Full Feather and Impertinence recorded the good time-of 1.3 for five furlongs on the plough.
Quarterdeck ran six furlongs on the plough in 1.20.
Gay Crest and Synonym covered five furlongs on the course proper in 1.6. Solferite took 53 2-5 ato gallop four furlongs, and "Skyquest beat Sprinkle in a similar task.
Sir Roy finished in front of Polydectes and Thorndale at the end of seven furlongs traversed in 1.31.
Sir Wai (I. Tilsen) jumped four hurdles in promising style. Merivale beat Amor over five furlongs in 1.3.
