LABOURERS' WAGE INCREASE.

DUNEDIN, this day,
The Dunedin City Council had before it last night a recommendation that, in View of the general labourers' recent award, calling for increases which would involve £5000, and an increase in the general rate, finances be adjusted on the basis of employing fewer hands, and, where reasonable, that tenders be Invited for city works.
It was stated that from 25 to 50 men would be affected. After discussion the report was adopted.
