LONDON TALLOW SALES. IMPROVED DEMAND. London, March 22. At the tallow sales 302 casks were offered aud 480 sold. Prices were unchanged to sixpence advance. Mutton, fine, 43/6, medium, 35/. Beef, fine, 40/; medium, 35/6. The Bank of Xew Zealand lias received the following cable from its London office under date 21st inst.:— Tallow.—There is an improved demand. Prices have advanced sixpence per cwt. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having received the following cablegram from their London house, dated 2let instant: — Tallow: 502 casks offered and 73 per cent sold. Prices, inferior, 6d higher; other descriptions unchanged. BUTTER AND CHEESE. W. G. Paviour Smith has received from his London principals, the Anglo-Contin-ental Produce Co., Ltd., the following cabled market report, dated London, March 20:— Butter, 174/. Market quiet. Cheese, 99/. Market firm. The Xew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, advise that they have received th° following cable advice from London, under date March 21:— Xew Zealand butter (choicest), 174,' to 175/; market very slow. Xew Zealand cheese, 99/ to 100/; market ie steady. LONDON WOOL SALES. Messrs. Dalgety and Company. Limited, report having received the following cablegram from their London house, dated 21st instant: — Wool: The sales continue firm and active, very strong demand for crossbred* of all descriptions; Continental and Home trade buyers particularly keen; America buying any suitable lots. As compared with closing rates of last series, Xew Zealand Merino none offered equivalent to Australian. Merino, par to Id higher; greasy halfbred, Id to Ittd higher; greasy crossbred, fine.
