VISIT TO AUCKLAND DISTRICT
CONSOLIDATION OF SCHOOLS.
The Director of Education (Mr. J. B. Strong) is at present visiting the Auckland district on departmental business. Arriving in the city on Monday he proceeded to Whangarei and Buawai the following day in connection with the proposed establishment of a district high school at the latter place and the consolidation of schools at Raupo Flats. The director returned to Auckland this afternoon from Helensville, where he has also been considering the question of the consolidation of schools, and discussed various matters in committee with members of the Auckland Education Board.
