DACRE'S DEPARTURE.
UNLIKELY TO BE DELAYED
C. D»ere, the North Shore cricketer, who* -las . ccepted a professional engagement with the Gloucester Club, England, will depart for England this month. A benefit match is being arranged for him next Saturday by the Auckland Cricket Assoriation. It was hoped that Dacre would be able to postpone his departure until next month and go in company with the Sussex players, Bowlev and Langridgc. by which means he would be able to play for Auckland against the Australian team on March 9, 10 and 12. This, however, is unlikely, as Dacre has in view the possibility of being able to turn to advantage in the English winter his ability as a Soccer player and has made arrangements to play a month's trial with the Bristol Rovers team before the English Soccer season ends. His adaptability as a Soccer player may find him. he hopes, a regular place in the English club play next year, which, of course, would mean a handsome addition | to his income as a wicket professional. But it is necessary that he should play some trial games this season in order to get placed next winter.
