LATE MR. G. WALKER.
FIXER AL LARGELY ATTENDED. The funeral of the late Mr. George alker, who was accidentally drowned near Tokaanu last Thursday,"took place yesterday afternoon at Purewa Cemetery. The large attendance at the funeral was widely representative of the business community of Auckland. Those present also included members of the Ora Lodge of Freemasons and representatives of the South African Veterans' Association. A short service was conducted by Canon P. E. James at the late Mr. Walker's residence, and the cortege comprising some fifty cars then proceeded to the cemetery. Scores of wreaths covered the hearse and filled the following car. The service at the graveside was conducted by Canon James.
