NEW MAGISTRATE.
MR. PATERSON AT ROTORUA.

ROTORUA, this day.
In the Magistrate's Court to-day Mr. S. L. Paterson, S.M., took his seat on the Bench for the first time since he was appointed. This morning Mr. W. A. Carter, on behalf of the local bar, congratulated the magistrate on his appointment to the Rotorua district, extended him a hearty welcome and said he hoped his stay would be long, successful and happy. He felt that the magistwrate would fill his position with honour and dignity and the bar would give him every support.
Mr. Paterson thanked the bar for the welcome and said he would do his best to administer justice and give litigants a patient hearing.
