WEDDINGS OF THE WEEK.

GASH—BUCHANAN.

The wedding took place last Wednesday at St. Paul's Church, Devonport, of Myra, fifth daughter of Mr. J. G. Buchanan, of Devonport, to W. 0. Gash, only son of Mrs. Gash, of Takapuna. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a shell pink georgette frock with a silver lace bolero and a finely pleated front panel, and a silver hem. The veil was of shell pink tulle, appliqued with satin flowers and arranged on the head with a coronet of orange blossoms. The shower boiujuet was of pink and blue. The bridesmaids, Miss Eileen Gash and Miss Doreen d'Anthreau, wore frocks of delphinium blue georgette, with a silver lace bolero effect. The skirts were of uneven length, with silver lace points. Thev had georgette turbans on their heads, with a silver posy at the nape of the neck. Th » bouquets were of variegated colours. Mi'. I. Kronfeld was best man and Mr. J. Buchana groomsman. WILLIAMS—RYBURN. An evening wedding was celebrated in Ngahinepouri. Hall, Waikato, recently, when Miss Margaret M. Ryburn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Ryburn, was married to Mr. Frederick C. Williams, only son of Mr. - and Mrs. F. Williams, of Ngahinepouri. The bride wore ivory charmeuse over silver. lame, embroidered in silver and- diamante. A beautiful Limerick' lace veil was also worn, and a chaplet of orange blossoms. The bridesmaids, Misses Louie Ryburn, Sophie Ryburn, and Alice McGregore, were dressed .alike, in apple green and pink crepe de chine, with turban caps of silver leaves and tulle. The flower girls were Audrey Wilkins and Gloria Hayes, and the. best man Mr. W. Tompkins. After the ceremony the bride's parents entertained the # guests at their home. Mrs. Ryburn wore a pretty rose crepe de chine and hat to tone. Others present were Mesdames F. Williams, M. Haves, J. McGregor, J. Marshall, E. Ryburn/ W. ■Py e » Peters, F. The bride's travelling frock was pink georgette and lace, and smart pink hat. Mr. and Mrs. Williams' future home will be at Whakatane.

A tennis party w-as enjoyed by a number of .Miss Banks' friends, at her home, Cambridge, on Saturday afternoon. Afternoon tea was served in the dining room, the table being decorated with African daisies. • The guests were: Mesdames A. H. Nicoll, Boston Couper, R- Caldwell, E. B. Cox, B. The drawing room had gay, multieolouied streamers, bowls of African marigolds, and Oriental lanterns at a jolly little party given by Mrs. A. S. Hensliaw on Saturday evening. An excellent programme was arranged, musical and elocutionary items interspersed with dancing and games. To receh e her guests Mrs. Henshaw wore a charming gown o-f black accordionpleated georgette with raised motifs in scarab blue. Among those present were Mrs. P. Eaton. Mexique-blue georgette, petalled skirt; Mrs. Atford, ivorv maroeain. periwinkle blue relief; Mrs. C'arruthers, lavender crepe alonza, with cream lace; Miss Pearl Pitkethlev, primrose floral crepe faille, with mauve; Miss Mildred Smith, iris mauve charmeuse. drawn gold thread designs; Miss Rita Malatios, blush-rose shot taffeta silver centre; Miss Kathleen York, mignonette knife-pleated crepe de chine; Miss Olga Clark, pompadour pink georgette, crystal beading with silver lace panels; Miss Joyce Henshaw, cream crepe de chine with silver: Miss Ruby W alters, ecru lace over apricot crepe de chine: Miss M. McGaw, floral ninon de soie in shades of green; Miss Eileen Kmptage, lilac taffeta, hand-made rose designs: Miss Alice Smith, coral georgette, gold lace: Miss Hazel York, shellpink crepe de chine; Miss Sylvia Dobbs. orchid satin du soir, ecru" lace; -Mis 3 Phyllis Atford, peach organdie with broad sash of pastel green georgette; Miss Kathleen Tate, eau de nil shot taffeta; Miss Evelyn Whitford, sea-green rayonne with pleated ivory georgette panels.
