Measrs. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having held the annual sale or Messrs. G. and R. Coatee' well-known Southdown breed at the Paparoa yards. The advertised yarding came forward and met with keen competition from a large attendance of buyers who came from Hokianga, Kaikohe, Wliangarei, Papakura, Te Aroha and Te Awamutu. The result wa6 a most satisfactory sale at the following prices: — Stud one-shear rams, logs to lTVsgs to 20gs. The 60-odd flock one-shear rams sold from Bgs to lU'igs, and averaged 9%gs.
The ewes were a good even line and were subject to spirited bidding at the following prices:— Two pent* at sgs, two at 534g5. one at G%gs,,one at TVigs and one at S'/igs. These sheep have improved considerably during recent years., now being of a good even type, low and thick-set and showing great constitution, besides being well woolled.
