WORLD'S RECORD BROKEN.
CATCH AT WHANGAROA.
BATTLE FOR TWO HOURS.

WHANGAROA, this day.
The world's record thresher 3hark was caught yesterday at Whangaroa on a rod and line by Mr. Stanley Ellis, of Hamilton.
It weighed 6971b, was lflft 9in long, and measured 65 inches round the girth. The monster was caught on a 36' thread line. It fought for two hours and broke one rod, but after skilful manipulation another rod was substituted.
Mr. Ellis was accompanied by Miss K. Warnholtz, a Swedish journalist, who is visiting New Zealand.
