WAIPOUA FOREST ROAD.

PATRONISED BY MOTORISTS.

AUCKLAND TRAMPERS' TRIP.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)

DARGAVILLE, this day.

Since the Waipoua Forest Road was opened hundreds of motorists from both islands have made the trip through the Southern Hokianga.

Residents of Waimamaku and Rawene are making full use of the road, and taxis are running daily to Donnelly's Crossing, the railhead, and Trounson Kauri Park. A through service connecting Dargaville and Waimamaku has already been established.

A large number of people made an excursion to Trounson Kauri Park and the Waipoua Forest yesterday.

A party of members of the Auckland Trampers' Club is camped in the Edmond Trounson Memorial Park, adjoining the Trounson Kauri Park. On Saturday night they motored to Waipoua, and on Sunday they tramped through the forest, and returned to Dargaville in the evening.
