RESULT OP DRY SPELL.

The returns of the N.Z. Co-op. Herd Testing Association for November show that in the Waikato the average production of 67,414 cows was 36.641b butterfat, while those for December show a decline to 34.671b butterfat for 62,224 cows. In the Waiuku district, where conditions have been particularly serious on account of the dry spell, the reduction in the yield I is more marked. The figures for the group for the last four months are:— September.—l 747 cows, 8551b milk per cow; 4.4 test; 37.811b butterfat per cow. October.—2o36 cows; 8971b milk per cow; 4.1 test; 36.831b butterfat per cow. November.—2oß9 cows; 8581b milk per cow; 4.2 test; 36.211b butterfat per cow. December.—-2169 cows; 7241b milk per cow; 4.2 test; 30.751b butterfat per cow. LONDON PRODUCE MARKETS. The Bank of New Zealand has received the following advice from its London office at the close of business last week:— Butter Steadier, 152/ to 154/ per cwt. Cheese.—Better demand, 89/ to 90/ per cwt. Frozen Meat.—The market is firm for wethers. Prices for ewes are steady. As a consequence of the lamb market being over-supplied prices are affected. Australian quoted at 6d to 9%d, Argentine 6d to B%d. There is a fair ' demand for beef. Wethers: Light 6d to 7*/4 d per lb, heavy 4%d to 5%d. Ewes: 4%d to Lambs: Twos lOd to 10% d, eights lOd to 10% d, fours lOd to 10% d, seconds 9V6d to lOd. Ox hinds, 4%d to 4%d per lb; ox fores, 3%d to 3%d; cow hinds, 4d to 4%d per lb; cow fores, 3%d to 3%d.
