WOOL CHEQUES.
£600,000 AT WANGANUI
Next Friday sheep farmers who sold wool at the Wanganui sale on January 20 will receive cheques for about £600,000. This is a record for any January sale of wool in Wanganui. In the January sale 'ast year 23,000 bales of wool realised 5401,000 as compared with 25,000 bales it "he recent sale, which returned £600,000 pproximately. In 1926, at the January nle, 20,000 bales of wool realised £340,000. fhe increase in the price of wool is shown l>y the fact that in 1926 the average per hale was £17, in 1927 £17 9/7, and in 1528, £24.
