THE WAIUKU SPORTS.

The Waiuku Athletic Sports Club's ninth annual sports meeting was held on Monday. Much interest centred in the loin, standing chop, for prize money totalling £70 and a silver cup. There were 19 entrants for this event, comprising leading axemen of the North Island. There were two heats and each provided a close contest. Although third in his heat, W. J. Costello won the final with a second to spare. The principal running event, the Waiuku Cup, of 135 yds, was won by D. Molesworth.
