PAHIATUA RACING CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING OPENS to-morrow. THE FIELDS REVIEWED. (By Telegraph.— Special to "Star.") WELLINGTON, this day. m 2? Racing Club's annual meeting will be held on Wednesday and anaMt fFu are not ] arge, and the quality of the contestants is not good The second day clashes with the openins day of the more important Egmont meeting, a foolish position for a country club like Pahiatua to get into, and the second day is likely to be very thin all round. In Mr. C. O'Connor's absence at Hawera the Pahiatua dispatching will be done by Mr« W. Price, of Wanganui. The course is in first-class order The Maiden field does not comprise a good lot. Aurora Boreal is ran third at Ashhurst and should show up. Brown Sugar and Aro de Val may do best of the others. In the Ballanee High-weight, Trentham form points to Horomea running well. Capitulation and Lady Gay should also be prominent. Tintoretto takes the eye in the Hamua Hack, where Discourse might be dangerous. The Pahiatua track is not a good one for slow beginnerß, and this might beat Oratrix,. in which case Royal Game, Gaze and Henna may do best. Lin Arlington and Volplane may be handy at the finish of the Konini Hack. There is a big field of hacks in the Makuri Handicap. Air Force, Moa Bird and The Raider have recent form in their favour. Dobbin and Coot have done best lately of the very moderate lot of sprinters in the President's Handicap. Miss Pat may prove the best of the lightweights. Vigilance, Lin Arlington and Discourse should find most favour in the Eketaliuna Handicap. The list of acceptances is: MAIDEN RACE of SOsovs. Six furlongs and a-half. (Weight 8.7.)
