PASTURES LOST.
SUDDEN, SWIFT FIRE.
UNLUCKY DAIRY FARMER.
(Bf telegraph— Own Correspondent.)
WHANGAREI, this day. . from a south-bound express •ngine is said to have set fire to a pad' «ck owned by Mr. R. McCarroll, at «*reretu. on Saturday. The flames spread with alarming swiftness, and it was not long before 100 of pasture had been burnt clean. Mr. McCarroll, who has been milking W cows, is a heavy loser, as he has been jWßpelled to turn his cows into the gfcfar pasture, and his hopes of refurther cheques from the dairy ltttory this year are very slender.
