ITALY AND RUMANIA.
SIGNIFICANT NEGOTIATIONS
ROME, January 27
Importance is attached to the visit of the Rumanian Foreign Minister, M. Titulescu. He has already had two conversations with the Prime Minister, Signor Mussolini, who is very anxious to improve the diplomatic relations of Italy with Rumania, as Rumania has seemed lately to be increasingly inclined to veer toward Paris as the nerve-centre of the Little Entente (Rumania, Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia).
Moreover, the negotiations for a trade agreement have for a long time caused difficulty to be experienced in arranging for the purchase by Italy of Rumanian oil. under conditions that would be mutually satisfactory.
M. Titulescu, in a statement, said he was certain all difficulties could be smoothed away. The trade parleys were being resumed on a more satisfactory basis, and there was no clash of diplomatic interests.
