DEN OF FORGERY.
Discovery By French Police. MASTER CRIMINAL ESCAPES. PARIS, January 27. The police unearthed a veritable forger's den in a lonely villa at Vitry-sur-Seine. The master forger, Andre Vila, fled, but his description has been circulated throughout the country, and his arrest is only a matter of time. Vila took elaborate precautions to hido his identity, and built up three personalities by means of false papers. Among the discoveries in the den were 50 forged Bank of England £5 notes, and a great number of French 50franc notes and American and Venezuelan notes. There were also acids, dyes and engraving tools. The raid was the sequel to the arrest of two men in Rlieitns, who were in the act of changing false notes.
