With a view to formulating some workable scheme whereby adequate and satisfactory transport services may be supplied for suburban districts at prefent indifferently served, the Mayor of Auckland (Mr. Baildon), Mr. Brigham (town clerk), Mr. Ford (general manager of tramways) and Mr. Allum (cliairman of tramways committee) had a long interview this morning with the Prime Minister (the Hon. J. G. Coates) and the Minister of Public Works (the Hon. K. S. Williams). After two Ministers had left to attend to other duties, Mr. F. W. Furkert, engineer-in-chief to the Public Works Department, discussed matters with the party. Everything was done in private.
