Recent rains have greatly benefited local pastures and young maize crops. The rauranga Co-operative Dairy Association, Ltd., is paying out £16,000 to supplier! to-day, of which £12,000 is for October output at 1/4 per lb, and £4000 represents a bonus on 1925-26 suppliers of %d per lb. Up to the end of October the output from the factory showed an increase of 60 tons on last year's figures. RANGITAIKI. The month _of October was a very favourable period for production on the Rangitaiki Plains, the output from the factory for the month being 184 tons of butter, compared with 159 tons for the corresponding month of last year. The payout on November 20 will amount to for the October output, based on 1/3% per lb butterf&t for superfine cream. In October of last year the payout was 1/2 per lb butterfat.

So far this season the output has reached a total of 371 tons, compared with 300 tons" of butter produced during the first three months of the season laßt year, tie totals being made up as follows> the figures for 1926 being shown in parentheses: August, 55 tons (40); September, 132 tons (101); October, 184 tons (139). The payout for the season to October 31, 1927, was £11,817. for the same period of the previous season it was £7998. Basing payments at 1/4 per lb for standard, the Whangarei Dairy Company on Saturday distributed £19,502. Last October, when the price paid was 1/, the payout was £11,697. For the present season the payouts have totalled £37,560, compared with £21,566 last year.
