ANTI-DAZZLE DEVICE.
EXPERIMENTS IN THE DOMAIN
The claims of a resident of Cambridge, Waikato, Mr. F. E. Higgins, for a practical solution of the dazzle difficulty were explained to a party of motorists, including representatives of the police, City Council, Automobile Association and the Press, in the Domain one evening last week. The idea is to dip the headlights, thus giving the driver "all the light all the time" Mr. Higgins puts it. This is accomplished by a simple electrical device operated by a push button control on the steering column, and is adaptable to any style of car or lamp. A British and an American car, so fitted were driven round, passing each other without any discomfort -to either driver, the full rays of light being thrown on the road about ten feet ahead. The current used is less thJtn that required by a single headlamp. All who saw the experiment were impressed with its practical nature and simplicity. The car is now in Wellington where it will b« demonstrated to the proper authorities.
