CHRISTCHURCH OLYMPIA.
EXHIBITION WELL PATRONISED.
It was a happy thought that decided the motor trades to stage the Olympia during Carnival Week, so that visitors to the races and the Royal Show should have ample opportunity of viewing, in conveniently concentrated form, the many makes of cars, their advantages, comfort and evident powers of endurance, says a Christchurch exchange.
Their relatively low prices have been the subject' of favourable comment. The general opinion of visitors has been that the models on exhibition are among the very best types for road travelling in ease and comfort, and that the models permit almost everyone to spend the extra hour of daylight allowed by the Summer Time Act, to the best and most healthful advantage. The many improvements which have been made in motordom in the last twelve months may be small in themselves, but in the aggregate they represent almost a revolution in the facilities for motoring. Engines, the smooth running of which is so essential to the full enjoyment of a trip, have been tested, retested and improved in several directions within the last year. But the greatest changes are in the upholstering and general decoration. In these, brighter colours are the rule, setting off the graceful lines of the vehicles to pleasing effect. One expert, in discussing the latest cars, which he described as being low, sleek, and gleam, ing, said: "Every line of every model bespeaks an ability to eat up distance; Every interior seems an invitation tq restful ' comfort. The motors are mechanical masterpieces, compact and powerful, rivalling the finest watches in the precision of finish and operation."
