WHEEL AND TRACK NOTES.

SEASON'S FIXTURES. (By ORION.) November 23.—Otahuhu T.C. November 2b, 26.—Forburj Park T.C. December B.—Walkato T.C. December 10.—Northland T.C. December 15, 17.—New Brighton T.C. December 26.— lahburton T.C. December 26. 27.—Westport T.C. December 26, 27.—South Wattarapa. December 26.—Gore T.C. December 28.—Wintoa T.C. December 27. 29. 21.—Auckland T.C. Holly Boy is in two races to-morrow, but his display on Saturday will not encourage anyone to support him. Petroleuse is a solid little trotter, and though giving aw»y 84yds in the unhoppled race will be in the picture at the end. A two-miles journey in the Innovation Trot is almost certain to see Colonel Thorpe break enough times to settle his chance. Concertina was finishing on well in fourth place in the Mangere Handicap m Saturday, but the "bay pacer is a little unreliable at the post. Spirit Bell, who has not raced for a long time, is in the unhoppled handicap to-morrow. The grey trotter does not read like a winner just yet. Judging by the way Padlock won the Mangere Handicap, the son of Hal Zolock will see a short price in any race he is harnessed up for to-morrow. Nelson Fame is one of the speediest pacers in the Dominion, but somehow he does not win often. In the Massey Memorial on Saturday he showed a brilliant turn of speed going along the back the last time, but a moderate third was his best at the finish. To-morrow he is in tbe mile saddle, and at his best he would beat bis opponents easily, but he does not seem to he so solid* as he was twelve months ago.

Bright Light should shine to morrow,

Great Eyre, who is in the Papatoetoe Handicap, ran fourth in the Novice Handicap won by Daphne de Oro at Wellington. Great Eyre then raced in hopples, but to-morrow will be freelegged.

At the Auckland meeting last month Golden Grattan finished third in the unhoppled race to Tiger Salve and Petroleuse. As Tiger Salve is not in to-morrow Golden Grattan should be in the betting.

Mulwaree is nicely treated in the Royal Oak Handicap. When he ran third to Direct Morning and Lord Nepean last meeting his time Tor the n\ile and a-quarter was 2.49 1-5. Tomorrow he is on 2.51.

Gold Jacket did not appear to be lucky in running in the Onehnnga Handicap, and he will carry good raoney in the Franklin Handicap. He will give those handicapped behind him somthing to do to head him off.

Lady Dunmore was expected to go well in the Oneliunga Handicap on Saturday, but she broke up badly before two furlongs had been covered, and that was the end of her. Of late she has been far from reliable in her races.

The general opinion has always been that the Bhorter the journey the better Nelson Tasker is suited, but evidently his owner holds a different view, and the speedy pacer is engaged in the Frankliu, Handicap, two miles, to-morrow.

There was good money for Hohoro in the Mangere Handicap, but in the big field he did not get near the leading division. If the support accorded hittt on Saturday was warranted, he should be in the picture in the Epsom Handicap.

Caprice was well up in the first quarter of the mile saddle on Saturday, but the Wildmoor mare did not keep ap her run and faded out a long way from home. When Sister Beatrice lan third to Trampfast and Tradesman last month she went 4.40. On Saturday she won off a 4.42 mark in 4.42 2-5, and to-morrow is handicapped to go 'what she went when she was third to Trampfast and Tradesman.

If Black Li la misses the Fergusson Handicap and is saddled up for the Dunedin Handicap later she will not be overlooked. She has done all her racing since coming to New Zealand in harness, but before coming over this way she won the Sydney Thousand in saddle.

When Tiger Salve won the Bemuera Handicap at Epsom last month lie covered the two miles in 4.42, the mark he is handicapped on to-morrow. He would only want to repeat that run to-morrow to get the money. He is a more solid trotter than those in the Visitors' Handicap.

Uncle Bert tangled at the start of ihe Oneliunga Handicap on Saturday, and did not settle down to his job till his prospects were gone. It is not often he does anything wrong nowadays, and if he goes away right in the Franklin Handicap he should be ha«dy, because he will run the two miles right out.

Rua Pcre is a bit tricky at the start, otherwise he would soon win a race. He was unsighted in the early part of the Manukau Handicap on Saturday, but made up a lot of ground once lie got settled on the trip. He would only have to begin right to have a great chance to-morrow in the Royal Oak Handicap.

A couple of seasons ago Surveyor was whispered about as being one of the best novices in Auckland, but he never did much good. He fa in the Epsom Handicap to-morrow.

Lady .Toan had her first race for a long time in the Massey Memorial. She went off the mark well, but was done with when the real test came, and finished well back.

Ngatira is a good old plodder, 4nd off the front to-morrow should l>e in the picture all the way. It is 1 ju?t a question whether he has that little sprint in him which wins races.

Dad's Hope, who had liia first start on Saturday since coming across from Sydney a few months back, did not go too smoothly, and was allowed to drop out of his second day's engagements.

In putting Jewel Pointer on a 4.28 mark in the Fergusson Handicap tomorrow, Mr. Goosman has not been hard on the son of Logan Pointer. At the same time he only won by half a length on-. Saturday, with Cardinal Logan a head away, and the handicapper seems to have sized the position up by penalising Jewel Pointer 12yds, and leaving Black Lila and Cardinal Logan alone. Even though the opinion is that Mr. Moodabe'a horse is well treated, the chances are Cardinal Logan will be the. favourite.
