THIS MORNING'S GALLOPS

The weather was fine for training work at Ellerslie this morning. The course proper, outside one trestle, and the No. 2 grass track were open for fast work, and they provided excellent going.

THE COURSE PROPER. Before Breakfast. Red Lion ran half a mile in 57 4-ss. Beau Cavalier ran seven furlongs in 1.37 2-5. Whaka King, Double Mint, Serang ana Brampton finished as ntfmed at the end of six furlongs run in 1.19. Acushla covered the last seven furlongs of a mile in 1.34 1-5. The Lover and Piet were on terms at the finish of six furlongs, the last five occupying 1.7 1-5. Camp Prince ran three furlongs in 44 2-ss. War Officer, 4bbey Day and Restaurant finished as named at the end of six furlongs in 1.21 2-5. Bombarder and Pompieus ran five furlongs in 1.7 2-5. Salamander took 1.43 2-5 to cover seven furlongs. CarinthiA, Whakarite and Modest Boy were in that order at the end of seven furlongs which were run in 1.30 3-5.

Dave beat Archibald over five furlongs in 1.6 1-5."

Idun and Tidal ran five furlongs in 1.6 1-5.

Diamom} Queen and White Light covered six furlongs in -1.21. Daddy's Girl, who was picked up by Ash Tray at the six-furlong post, ran a round in 2.4 3-5, the last six furlongs taking 1.21. She easily beat Ash Tray at the finish. After Breakfast. Marita was a shade better than Bizarro in a half mile sprint which took 53 3-os.

Aiitbmne just beat Wyoming in a six-furlong gallop jjrhich occupied 1.19 4-5. f-

Golden Krist, Mint Leaf and Royal Mint jumped of! together at the mile and a-quarter post, and ran the last round in 2.2 2-5, and finished in the order named. Golden Krist led practically all the way, but Mint Leaf was almost on termß when the post was reached, Royal Mint being a couple of lengths back. was sent over a round, and moving freely throughout, he ran the distance in 2.4 4-5. Handstitcli and Spalmore sprinted three furlongs in 39 2-ss. Karamu ran six furlongs in 1.22. Arch Queen, with a light weight up., went a round in 2.2 2-5, the last six furlongs being run in 1.22 1-5. NO. 2 GRASS. Before Breakfast. Sir Archie ran five furlongs in 1.8 1-5. Welkne ran six furlongs in 1.27 2-5. Nassock did the last six furlongs of his work in 1.29 1 -5. Right and Left covered three furlongs in 425. Bahama and Scararaouchc ran half a mile in 52 l-ss. Ahi Ngaro, Amos and Slump covered six furlongs in 1.21 2-5. Antrim Boy covered half a mile in 50 4-ss. Town Guard ran the last three of four furrongs in 395, and Valsier covered five furlongs in 1.13, going easily. After Breakfast. Lord Guy and Hone Heke were on terms at the end of six furlongs which took 1.24 2-5. The Fox sprinted half a mile in 545. Branson jumped off at the six-furlong post and ran home in 1.17 2-5, the first three furlongs taking 375. Quinvardia was going better than Kamehameha at the end of seven furlongs, which they covered in 1.32 2-5. Hipo trotted round to the half-mile post and sprinted home in 5 2-ss. Nastori was sent over six furlongs, completing the distance in 1.18. and could have done better.

Master Doon was sent a round alone, which he accomplished in 1.45 2-5. From a stand, Nola Night ran home in 54s from the half-mile peg. Yaqui took 1.21 to negotiate six furlongs, without being bustled. ON THE TAN. : Sleepy Sol ran a round on the tan in 1.58 3-5, and Lady Robinson covered six furlongs on the same track. in 1.24 2-5. NOTES. C. Carmont is bringing Potoanui, Highflown, Gold Rain, Flitter, Lord Thurnham and Queen Comet to compete at the Takapuna spring meeting. He is expected to leave. Te Aroha to-morrow. Waltzer, King Arch and King Lu are expected to arrive to-morrow. R. .Reilly will ride Master Doon, Mon Star, Archibald* Bombarder, Luxurious aroLStorm Fiend. T. Chaplin will pilot and Young Pretender.
