The cadets will <ro into camp at the Wlgrani Aerodrome on Friday for a jcourse of 12 weeks, with a break at [Christmas and New Year, ft is hoped to have them efficient with the Avro machines at the end of the first course, and that they will become qualified as pilot officers in their second course next year.
There were about 300 applicants for the ten eadetships, and praeticallv everv one was suitable. The unsuccessful one', were not rejected, but there is no place tor them.

Mr. Charles Campbell Hunter, ao-ed 10 is a son of Mr. J. H. C. Hunter,°of AG, bt Georges Bay RorJ, Parnell. Educated at the Parnell school, he won a scholarship that took liim to the Auckland Grammar School, from where he passed on to the university with a .scholarship and a bursary. He has been studying electrical engineering. He hold* the rank of sergeant in the Engineers. -,x 3, • Watt is an old boy of Hamilton High School. Last as a «erfeant in the Northern Depot, Xew Zealand Engineers, he won the championship belt for rifle shooting, and also won the "B; grade city and suburban championship for the 1926-27 season.
Mr. N. C. Jenkin, of Violet Street. Mount Albert, is a bombardier in the 4th Battery. He is -well known as a Rugby player, and has been an emerfrencv for the Auckland team. "
A verdict of raicide while in a state of mental depression was returned by the coroner, Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M at the inquest yesterday afternoon, con' cerning the death of Harold Gordon Ghent, a married man. aged 34, who rlied early on Sunday morning as the result of taking poison.
