GIRL ADMITS FORGERY.
LETTER TO A NEWSPAPER. I , (I».v lele^rraph.—Press Association.) j DUNEDIN, this day. A girl of IS years appeared for sentence in the Supreme Court yesterday I for forging, at Middlemarch. on Septeuilber 27, the name of one William -Moyni;han to a letter sent to a newspaper. Counsel said that the girl was younger than her years. Her mentality was that of a child. It was quite clear that she had no idea- she was corrirjitting crime, but regarded it as a joke. She had already been punished by the Court proceedings. '
His Honor ordered her ; to pay a • fine of £2 to cover the cost of the prosecution, and requested that her name be not published.
