Defied Defence Act,
, W- P- C- Mills, who admitted that he had failed to attend drill, was fined £3 with 13/ costs. E. King and A. Mason, for similar offences, were convicted and ordered to pay 13/ costs each.
Attempted Suicide.
Robert Harris, a negro, confessed that he attempted to take his life by inhaling coal gas on November 12 last, Sergeant J. A. Cruickshank said Harris had been in the Mount Eden hospital for medical observation and attendance. He was m his right mind now. With this certiorate from the police, Harris was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon.
