YOUNG MAN KILLED.
FORMER WHANGAREI RESIDENT. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") WHANGAREI, this day. A cable message received in Whangarei yesterday records the death of Mr. Rex Flavell Telfer, aged 24, formerly of Whangarei. He was killed while working in the bush at Miranda Downs, North Queensland.
He was the second son of Mr. A. W. Telfer, sawmill proprietor of Whangarei. Previous to his departure for Australia the late Mr. Telfer was well known in the district, more particularly as a prominent member of the Horahora Rugby Football Club. He was also a skilled musician.
