CHRISTCHURCH UNEMPLOYED.
RUMOURS PROVED FALSE. PRECAUTIONS BY. POLICE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Rumours were circulated in the city this morning that a section of the unemployed intended to rush the Citizens' Relief Depot and demand food, and if it were not forthcoming to take the depot stocks by force.
Police were hurried to Victoria Square, but the proceedings passed off quietly. A deputation appeared and merely made a request for work under the Citv Council.
