TE AROMA TENNIS CLUB.
» ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Te Aroha Tennis Club was held in the Parish Hall last evening. Dr. W. R. Lawrence, president, presided over a fair attendance of members. The report presented by the committee snowed that the present membership of the club is 83 ladies and 60 men.. The knockout doubles tournament for Dr. Lawrence's trophies was won by: Ladies, Misses Fcood and Matheson; men, Messrs. Wright and CuUen. The Easter tournament for trophies presented by Mrs. Gaw and Mr. L. Mackie was won by Miss Jennings and Mr. Morrison. A Thames Valley Lawn Tennis Association, with headquarters at Te Aroha, had been formed and affiliated direct to the New Zealand Association. In reference to the new courts which the club has recently purchased, the committee stated that good progress had been made with the preparation of the grounds, and a pavilion erected. The ram of £280 9/7 had been expended to date. The estimated expenditure to complete the courts was Regarding finance, the club account, after a transfer of £70 to the grounds account, showed a credit balance of £13 14/8. The profit for the season was £57 17/9. The grounds account Is in credit to the extent
