RUGBY LEAGUE.

ENGLAND SEEKING TALENT

WIGAN CLUB'S ENTERPRISE AUCKLAND AGENT APPOINTED. "Wanted, first-class Rugby talent A PPIy» etc." The professional Rugby teams of Eng land are very businesslike in theii methods, and after squeezing the Welsl Rugby orange fairly dry, are now making a vigorous search for players in New Zealand, the latest development being that an agent has been appointed in Auckland. Who Will be Next? The Wigan Rugby League Club has a vacancy on its register for a first-class forward, and it might not be giving a secret away to mention that the player being appraised at the moment is not yet associated with the Rugby League game. It was the Wigan Club, by the way, that gathered in the New Zealand trio. B. Davidson, L. Brown and L. Mason. «*alwarts of the last New Zealand League team that visited England. Wil-son-Hall, who accompanied the trio on a speculative mission, was quickly signed on by the Hull Club. Ten Tears' Term Mentioned. It appears that the Wigan Club was anxious to sign Davidson up for a ten years' period but the brilliant exAuckland player has made it a three years' term with right of renewal Immediately on arrival in England Brown and Davidson were sent by the Wigan Club to an English watering place to recuperate, before beginning the strenuous English playing season ahead.

PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN LEAGUE.

Mr. C. G. Culpan, on behalf of the Rugby League primary schools' management committee, writes:— "Mr. H. Murdoch, headmaster of the Otahuhu District School, states that the championship table showing the Otabuhu Primary School boys as winners of the League championship Is contrary to fact I wish to point out that this Is not bo. All the the boys who played in the winning team are primary school boys, and, further, they reside in Otabuhu. The fact that only six of the players go to the school, of which Mr. Murdoch is headmaster, Is regrettable."
