MORRINSVILLE STOCK SALE.

AN ADVANCING TENDENCY.

MORRINSVILLE, Tuesday. At the Farmers' Auctioneering Company's fortnightly stock sale at Morrinsville, in the beef section there was a good demand for empty and fresh-conditioned cows and yearling heifers. Values showed a tendency to rise. There was a good entry of fat sheep and competition was keen, t here being an advancing inclination in all lines. Choice dairy cows and heifers attracted good prices. Jerseys being most in demand. The offering was a large one, and prices for most lines were firm. Rates were somewhat slacker for pigs. The sale was one of the most successful of the year. Quotations are as follows:—

Beef.—Prime fat bullocks, medium weight, £13 4/; light fat steers, £10 6/ to £10 15/; extra prime fat heifers, £9 3/ to £9 12/; heavy fat cows, £8 to £9 6/; lighter, £6 to £7 2/; unfinished cows, £5 10/ to £5 18/; fresh conditioned cows, £4 8/ to £5 5/; good store cows, £3 12/ to £4 2/; others, £2 to £2 9/; boners, £1 to £1 10/; empty two-year-old Jersey cross heifers, £4 4/; empty two-year-old Shorthorn heifers, £4 14/; empty two-year-old Holstein cross heifers, £3 19/; yearling Jersey and Jersey cross heifers, £4 to £5 9/.

Dairy Cattle.—rChoice Jersey and Jersey cross heifers, £10 10/ to £1S 5/; later, £8 to £10; backward and poorer condition, £5 10/ to £7; Jersey cows in milk, £8 10/ to £11; springing cows, £5 to £7; backward sorts, £3 10/ to £4 15/.

Pigs.—Medium baconers, £2 17/ to £3 3/; light baconers, £2 10/ to £2 15/; porkers, £2 2/ to £2 8/; light and unfinished porkers, £1 17/ to £2; good stores, £1 10/ to £1 15/; slips, £1 2/ to £18/; best weaners, 16/. to £1; smaller, 11/8 to 15/. Sheep.—Prime fat wethers, 42/10; prime fat owes, 30/1; prime fat hoggets,,3o/; fat hoggets, 25/3; forward conditioned hoggets,, 22/2 to 24/11.
