ARREST OF YOUTH.

ALLEGED THEFTS FROM HOUSES. REMANDED FOR FURTHER INQUIRIES. A youth of 18, Cedric Athol Whittome, came before the Police Court this morning when he was charged with stealing from the dwelling of Arthur John Hipwell, a watch and gold chain, valued at £3 10/ and from the house of Julia Elwin, three brooches valued at £11, an engagement ring, chain and locket worth £3. On the application of Chief Detective Ward, who said that further inquiries were being made, Whittome ' was remanded until August 22.
