CHIANG ON THE RUN.
TROOPS SERIOUSLY HARASSED. SHANGHAI, August 7. The latest news from the various civil war rones indicates that the forces of the Conservative Nationalist leader, Marshal Chiang Kai-shek, are being seriously harassed on all sides. It is officially reported that the Shantungese section of the Northern armies have occupied Pengpu, on the TfcntsinPukow railway, and are continuing their advance southwards without resistance, owing to the almost complete evacuation by Chiang of all territory north of the Yangtse River.
Chiang is rushing troops to the southwest in order to meet the threatened advance of the Hanjjkow armies through Nanchang, in the Hupeh Province, where severe street fighting has already occurred.
