DEAD SEA TREASURE
Huge Wealth Being Exploited.
LONG NEGLECTED STORE
(Received 2 p.m.)
LONDON, August 7.
The treasures of the Dead Sea, comprising potash, magnesium, chloride and other minerals, estimated to value £240,000,000,000, will shortly be exploited, according to the "Sunday Times."
It is understood that the Colonial Office, in conjunction with the Palestine Administration, is at the point of granting Imperial Chemicals, Limited, and possibly others, a concession to tap this long neglected store which the Sultan, Abdul Hamid, during his long reign refused.
Geologists commenced their investigations soon after Lord AUenby captured Jerusalem. They believe that farmers throughout the Empire will obtain potash fertiliser at half current rates. (Sydney '"Sun.' , )
