YOUTH'S LEG AMPUTATED.
DRIVER OF CAR FINED £27,
NEGLIGENCE PROVED

Fines aggregating £27 ■were, imposed by Mr. S. L. P. Free, S.M., on Francis C. Dempsey, for driving liis car in a negligent manner, failing to notify an accident aud driving without a license.
Defendant was also prohibited from getting a license for twelve month?.
The charges arose out o' the collision of a car and a motor cycle one evening several weeks ago at the corner of a road near Konini. A youth named Don Eeid, who was riding the motor cycle, was injured and had to have one log amputated.
Medical evidence was given to the effect that Dempsey had been in bad health for some time.
